Secrets of Rome: Walking Tour

Starting from the city center, admire the size and decoration of the Vittoriano, the monument commemorating the unification of Italy. From this central square, your guide will lead you to Largo Argentina, the site of the famous assassination of Julius Caesar.

 

Visit an ancient stadium, Piazza Navona is now home to a Papal Palace, a beautiful church and Bernini’s famous Fountain of the Four Rivers. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of this place as you cruise past street performers and locals out for a stroll.

 

At the Pantheon, visit one of the original temples dedicated to the many deities of ancient Rome. From the Pantheon, your guide will lead you through narrow cobblestone streets, past another ancient temple, and up to the Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin.

 

To complete your tour of the historic center, visit Piazza di Spagna to witness the famous Spanish Steps. Your guide will explain how this area went from being the home of famous British writers, such as Keats and Shelley, to Rome’s current high-fashion shopping district.
